Pattern Making 2 || 8 weeks

It is assumed that students for level II must have completed level I, or assessed to have enough knowledge of slopers to forgo level II of our program

Curriculum:

​

• Designing patterns for shirts, pants and outerwear and developing them from existing slopers

• Understanding pattern notches and their purpose and usage

• Labelling patterns and garment parts(terminologies)

• Understanding seam allowances where to add them and how to use them

• Developing patterns for pockets, pocket facings, collars etc

• Developing fly pieces, waistbands etc

• Developing linings for pants and jackets

• The basics of linear and non linear grading and their usage

• Production patterns vs custom made clothing patterns

At the completion of the class, students must have a basic knowledge and be able to execute at least 70% of the applications covered In the class at a competent level in order to move to level 3
