Curriculum:
 

• Understanding the basics of industrial sewing machines

• Understanding the basics of industrial overlock machines

• Threading the machines

• The relationship between needles, thread and fabric in sewing

• Basic seams and constructing them

• Additional sewing tools (scissors/ seam rippers/ threads etc)

• Walking foot, needle feed, cover stitch, heavy overlock and other machines

• The basics of setting up a good home sewing studio

At the completion of the class, students should know how to operate industrial sewing machines, make various types of seams, what tools are needed and their proper usage and how to set up a basic sewing studio.
