Classic Tailoring || 12-13 weeks

The student will be taught how to make three specific garments that are the foundation of menswear tailoring:

1. A fully lined suit jacket, with functioning vents, surgeon’s cuffs and the necessary structural apparatus such as sleeve heads, shoulder pads etc.

2. Tailored dress pants with classic welt pockets, a classic finished tailored waistband, partial front linings, along with hand finished hems

3. A Classic dress shirt with a functional collar stay construction, working sleeve plackets etc

FINAL OBJECTIVES

It is the objective of this class that the student would have acquired the necessary knowledge and understand the unique processes that comes with making a fully tailored suit or a classic dress shirt. With this knowledge, students should be able to create other garments that do not require the complexity and skills necessary to complete such complex garments
